Facebook Tricks Useful

Accessing Facebook when it is blocked (at school or office)

This article runs through a few ways of accessing Facebook whilst at work or at school. Though you should be aware that it is pretty difficult in most cases. The main reason is that you do not have administrator access to the computers or the network, so gaining backdoor access to these sites is not easy. Still, here are a few things that you may try.

It was suddenly blocked

If it has been blocked from school then it is because Facebook is a dangerous place for some children, and they do not want to be liable if a child is denied access by their parents but is allowed on a school. Also, if the child is being groomed via Facebook, then the school may also be liable.

If Facebook has been banned from your work place then it is because it is a time vampire of the highest order and it costs thousands of working hours per year. Any company with common sense will have blocked Facebook a long time ago.

A different DNS

Facebook is rather large and so has its very own IP address. If you want to block Facebook then you block the IP address and nobody is able to gain access to it. A DNS server is registered with the network and it keeps all the data of all the websites and their corresponding IP addresses. If the Facebook IP address is blocked within the DNS server then you cannot gain access to the website.

If the Facebook IP address has been blocked via the DNS server, then all you need to do is use another DNS server. You can try one of the Google Public DNS servers or you can try OpenDNS servers. This may be more difficult than you know, and if you run into trouble then you may have to access to computer controls (which is often not allowed, so many people have to stop at this point). If are able to, then go to your Windows control panel and to go “Network and Internet Connections.” Now go to “Network Connections” and then right-click on a connection status icon. Go to the properties option and find, “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”. In here you must enter the server address of either OpenDNS or your Google DNS address.

Using the Facebook IP address

It is hard to know just how your company or school has actually blocked Facebook. So, another method that may work for you (if you have tried everything else) is to enter the IP address of Facebook into the browsers address bar. You can find the Facebook IP address all over the Internet (it is no secret). Pop that in the web browser address bar and give it a go (it can’t hurt to try).

Use a Proxy Website

Be wary of some of these, as they are often set up to con people in some way or another. The basic idea is that your company or school has blocked the URL of Facebook. This means that any browser address that falls within that URL will be blocked from view.

What you do is use a proxy website that acts a little like a TV for Facebook. You enter that website and it is visible. The website then pulls data from the Facebook website and shows it to you. It can even lay it out in the same way that Facebook does if you wish. The data itself is not banned, just the Facebook URL, but you are not accessing the Facebook URL, as your URL in the browser is that of your proxy website. Think of it like how you can watch a YouTube video on another website without even visiting YouTube.

Use a mobile website dongle

If it is possible to switch the Internet off of your computer, then do it and put in a mobile Internet dongle. Access the Internet via your dongle (if you are able) and there should be nothing blocked. It is still possible to block you from seeing it with your mobile Internet, but there is a big chance that they have not blocked Facebook in that manner. The hardest part is accessing your own Internet via a computer that does not allow you to use administrator tools/access.

Do it via your email account

You get notifications about Facebook things via your email account. It is sometimes possible to gain access to Facebook via there. If your company or school has used a cheap blocker, then it is possible. Most schools do not use the cheap version, as they are aware that school kids will try to access porn via their email addresses, so this technique is less likely to work in school.

  1. Accessing Facebook at school, restaurant or any public place where you have shared network is NOT safe, network provider as well as other people on same network can easily have access to your data. You can also use coursework writing service that help students to write their coursework papers without bugging friends at Facebook.
